The Consumers’ Association of Penang would like to address the public on the issue of the telemarketing of insurance policies.
Based on the complaints we have received, we find that many consumers get caught in the trap of unknowingly purchasing insurance policies that are being promoted through telemarketing.
About 500 residents in Kampung Sematang Tepi Laut and Kampung Tengku Laksamana, Kuala Kedah, Kedah face various problems because of the access road to their village is badly damaged.

Not even a month after a couple was crushed by a piling rig that fell on them at a construction site along Persiaran Astana, Klang and another tragic incident that has led to serious injuries and death has occurred.
If all the parties involved in the building industry - that includes the local councils, developers, contractors, architects, quantity surveyors, structural engineers, DOSH and all the others had carried out their roles and functions efficiently, this could have been prevented.

The Consumer Association of Penang calls for the urgent implementation of price control on pharmaceutical drugs. CAP has been calling for pharmaceutical drugs price control for years but it has fallen on deaf ears. Pharmaceutical drugs are an essential item and health is a basic need. Escalating drug prices put a tremendous strain on the financial resources of the Government and the public. It is about time pharmaceutical drug price control is implemented.
